The Emperor Part 1

 The Emperor:Part 1

The Empire didn’t always exist, it was once a government system similar to what the Alliance of United Systems is. It was a democracy with a parliamentary body comprised of five systems, a House of Representatives from every world elected by the people to serve their interests, a Senate with representatives appointed by Planetary leaders to represent their own interest, a Court System that maintained the law and order of the galaxy, a branch solely dedicated to creating laws and new opportunities for civilians to submit their ideas to the house or senate and finally a executive branch that had the power to veto elected by the House, Senate and approved by the Courts. Valterize, as he was once known, was a Human male from the planet of Hurgazt, a planet of the outlying territories the modern day capital sector of the Empire, who had come from low class standing who had managed to work his way into becoming a Senator and then finally took the seat of President. Valterize was a master of language as he had studied any language he could mastering the way he spoke with other diplomats many of them respecting him for the way he learned to speak their tongue. He was a wise leader, and well respected and beloved by the people. He was beloved so much in fact that he was constantly being reelected by the house and senate who he presided over long past the expiration of his secondary constitutional term provided to him. The courts had amended the constitution of their government to allow this as long as it was unanimous from both bodies that he may remain in power. He had soon served ten years as President and before long had become so used to holding the power of office that he himself saw himself as above the laws.

The President’s rival party became agitated, for they were no longer able to agree and petitioned to succeed from the union in peace. The President petitioned the governmental bodies and courts of his Parliament, for his congress to attempt to soothe the tensions. The galaxy soon fell into an era of civil war however when an assassination attempt was made by the rival party on Valterize and it failed. The loyalists faction petitioned for a supreme army to be created to go to war with their rivals and bring these sepratist traitors to justice. This war lead to bills being passed by the courts granting more and more powers to Valterize. In time the Courts and the parliament were no longer needed and Valterize himself had complete control over his people. The Military troopers, changed from peacemakers who sought to bring to justice those who attempted to kill their president into a conscription based army of executioners bent on eliminating all who defied the will of their President and his party.

Valterize’s brother Neran was worried for his brother, and the powers that his brother had accumulated, he no longer saw the boy he had grown up with rather he saw a power hungry monster. On the final day of the war when Valterize finally ordered the public execution of his rivals, he had ended the old ways and ushered in an era of order, where he and his loyalists party held all the power over the galaxy. He declared himself Emperor and reorganized the Parlimentary body into what is now known as the Empire. Neran hadn’t recognized his homeworld in the days that followed this reunification. He had but one choice, he had to seek help.

Neran fled the Empire in search of help and found help when he arrived on the peaceful world of Ancara, the world of the Monks. Unlike the priestesses of Junizeth, the monks of Ancara were not divided by gender or ruled by dark magic but rather by an inner light of peace that they had been teaching for centuries. Neran learned from the monks their ancient arts of understanding the galaxy, gaining powers through studying their texts. The Ancara had apparently learned how to access other dimensional energy, allowing them the ability to teleport across the stars without the use of technology, to shield themselves and others from laser weaponry and even how to manipulate the objects and energies around them to disarm their enemies and protect the ones they loved. Neran was happiest with the monks living in peace without fear of his brother or the Empire. For twenty years he stayed with the monks leaving behind his brother and his empire and soon found himself married with three children. The eldest was his daughter Khaleesh, his second born was a son named Bonin and his youngest child  was Nephar. His wife Tulsi was the grand daughter of the monk who trained him in the ways of the Ancara and was his best friend before they fell in love and married. He thought he would never be happier, than when he was with his family.

One summer morning Neran was working in the garden of the Monks temple on Ancara when an Imperial Fleet exited lightspeed in the Ancaran system. Within the hour imperial troops had landed on the surface, and monks were at war with the empire. It was a slaughter. The Imperial soldiers had overwhelmed the Acaran monks and many died, including Neran’s wife Tulsi who died attempting to save her father, Grandfather, mother and brother from an imperial firing squad. Neran fled with his children, teleporting from Ancara using his newfound powers to another system far far away.

Neran had now become a single father, with three children to feed and no skills to offer, he had returned to where he was growing up, poor, hungry and shelterless. He had learned why the empire attacked the monks, his brother had dictated a law against mystics, telepaths, empaths and those he deemed dangerous to humanity. He had finally reached the breaking point. Neran and his children teleported once more this time to Hurgatz, Capital World of the Empire. Neran and his children were welcomed as guests at the imperial palace, when they arrived as Velterize had no ill will to his brother, not knowing his brother was a mystic after leaving almost twenty years earlier. It was upon seeing his brother that he revealed his powers and using his powers slaughtered the Empires most elite garrison of troops, followed by his brother who begged forgiveness for his actions. Neran  had but one answer to his brother “fine, brother i’ll forgive you, if you can give my children their mother back!” he said, snapping Valterize’s neck without even touching him. Neran soon after took the crown of Emperor, the loyalists bowing to him out of fear for the emperor's power. The Emperor's Children became his top generals and began scouring the galaxy bringing fear and chaos with them.

The Emperor’s Throne room at the imperial palace of Hurgatz was a serene place, the room retrofitted by Neran’s love of the monks temples, that he had made the throne room more than just a place where he would be seen as Emperor and superior but also a place of deep serenity. This was done by the usage of hologram projection technology similar to the holodeck simulators aboard most starships. The only part of the room that wasn’t that of the monks was the door that still possessed his native Hurgatzian tastes, being made of dark wood and engraved with symbols of his peoples heritage. Neran sat upon his throne at the rooms back wall, not a throne of a conqueror at all but rather a higher lifted stage of sorts with a meditation pad at its center where Neran meditated and presided over any who would be invited to see him. Neran’s robes while still glamorous made of fine silks and cottons weaves, in the colors of purple, black and gold, were those of a monk his aging elderly face masked under his dark hood his long white hair peaking out of it and draped down over the front of his robes. The doors to the throne room opened, an elderly but still younger in appearance to the emperor, a woman, the same species as the priestesses of Junizeth enters the room, she is gaunt and lean as she is tall and mysterious, her hair concealed under a wig that made her look more human than she was, as well as a pearl headdress that sat around her forehead. Her robes were similar to the priestesses, very floral in texture, but hers finer more similar to the emperors in texture and fabric, her hands wrapped in linens that concealed her tribal tattoos. Her facial tattoos like scars as if fading away or removed by her sister priestesses upon her banishment. This was the Sorcerous Oolani, Secondary Vizier to the Emperor. “ you summoned me my liege” she asks as she approaches and curtsies before him. The Emperor stands and slowly maneuvers his way down the steps towards her. “I understand that your saboteur has failed to produce results, The Renalin Bomb was removed from the U.S.F Smithson, and our fleet was nearly completely destroyed” states the Emperor. “I assure you this was a mistake, my saboteurs aren’t as foolish as to leave a bomb detected” states Oolani. “This one was, I expect their execution the moment they return” orders the Emperor. “Execution, this was but one mistake, i can assure you he will not fail again” states Oolani. “He?” asks the Emperor. “His name is Osairus, he is one of my top saboteurs, trained since birth in the top assassination, espionage and sabatoge techniques, he is a loyalist i assure you” explains Oolani. “I detect something more, though, something you aren’t telling me” asks the Emperor. Oolani tries to face away from the emperor, knowing now that he was reading her mind, she turns away in an attempt to conceal it. “ He is my son my lord, hence how i know he wouldn’t fail purposefully” expresses Oolani. The Emperor peers down on her from his steps, and purses his lips. “ has he been in contact then?” asks The Emperor. “He hasn’t made contact, i assumed this was because he was still undercover, but I can feel his aura still looming in the galaxy” states Oolani. “ You will see to it that he is found and brought back home. Your child could be used as a weapon against us” expresses The Emperor, dropping his threat of execution. “Yes, my lord, thank you my lord. Perhaps we can send one of our own a loyalist of the top ranks to locate him?” asks Oolani. “Khaleesh’s fleet has just returned from quenching a rebellion on Jubia, I will prepare her for recovery on a stealth mission, go see to it that she is prepared and ready to leave” orders the Emperor. Oolani looks at the Emperor and nods, bowing to him before exiting the chamber, as she does the Emperor returns to his throne and returns to meditating.
